About this treatment
What it does
Nasolabial folds — the lines that run from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth — are a natural part of how the face moves. As we age, the cheek tissue above them gradually descends, and the folds deepen even when the face is at rest.
Our approach is rarely about filling the fold itself. More often, we treat the cause — adding small, considered support to the cheek — so the fold softens from above. The result is a refreshed, lifted look without the heavy, overfilled appearance that comes from filling the line directly.
Done well, this is one of the most quietly transformative treatments we offer. Most clients describe it as looking 'rested' rather than 'done.'
The Journey
From first conversation to settled result
- 01
Consultation
An unhurried 30-minute conversation. We assess the folds at rest and animated, look at the cheek support above, and discuss whether direct filling, mid-face support, or a combination is right for you. The exact cost is confirmed before any agreement.
- 02
Treatment
Numbing cream is applied for 20 minutes. Treatment takes 20-25 minutes using a fine cannula or needle, depending on the area. We work slowly, with mirrors at every stage so you can see the result developing.
- 03
Recovery & Result
Mild swelling and occasional small bruising for 2-5 days. The settled result is visible at 2 weeks. We always offer a complimentary review at the 2-week mark to check the result and answer any questions.

Common Questions
You asked, we answered
Why don't you just fill the line itself?
Often we do — but only when it's the right answer. Filling the line directly without addressing the cheek support above can leave the area looking heavy or 'pillowy.' We always assess the whole mid-face first and recommend the approach that gives the most natural result.
How much filler will I need?
Most clients need 1-2ml across both sides, depending on the depth of the folds and whether we're treating the cheek as well. Confirmed at consultation.
Will it hurt?
Mild discomfort. We apply numbing cream for 20 minutes before, and modern fillers contain anaesthetic. A cannula technique, where suitable, also reduces bruising and discomfort.
Will I bruise?
Possibly. Small bruises are not uncommon and usually settle within a week. We can use a cannula technique where appropriate, which significantly reduces the chance of bruising.
How soon can I go back to normal?
Most clients return to normal activities the same day. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 24 hours.
What if I don't like it?
Filler can be safely dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. We always wait at least 2 weeks for the final result to settle before considering this — early swelling is not the final outcome.
Can I have a treatment if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. We don't perform aesthetic treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding for safety reasons.
